Start a Local Chapter

Historically, the Share Our Wealth Societies were extremely decentralized. I see no reason to change this, anyone can start their own group and voluntarily associate with the movement. If you choose to do this, please do reach out for purposes of collaboration and coordination with the state chapter. Below are some plan for the state chapter:

Social Events

We plan to hold social events like going to the movies, a restaurant, karaoke, going to the fair, and more. These will be useful for spreading ideas, networking, and allowing people from different Local Chapters to meet each other.

Mutual Aid

Society has never had lower social capital. We need to look after each other, whether this means helping each other find a job or a roof to sleep under, we need to help our own. The elites of society rely on their own groups like fraternities or private lodges, for most people this is not an option. Often, people are too isolated to know anyone who can help them out in a tough situation, by leveraging communication between Local Chapters, we can help out our own better than we can when we are divided.

Local Chapter Ideas

Historically each individual Share Our Wealth Society was rather moderately sized with the smallest of them often being just somebody’s friend group. With that in mind, here are some ideas of activities to partake in with your local chapter:

  • Book Club
  • Charity Volunteering
  • Attend School Board or County Council Meetings
  • Political Advocacy and Voter Registration Drives
  • Write to politicians or the media
  • Bible Studies & Church Service Carpooling
