If we are going to change anything, we will have to maximize the value of our votes.

As you can see, most state races go unchallenged, but of the races that are, they are overwhelming decided in the primary. I suspect the vast majority of unchallenged races would also be decided in the primary.

The vast majority of state seats are determined in a race with 13% turnout and a minority in a race with >50% turnout. Your vote is 5x stronger in the primary and probably 5x more likely to help determine the winner also.

What Does This Mean?

The Share Our Wealth Society of Indiana will focus almost entirely on State and Local Primary Elections. If you live in a Blue seat, vote in the Democratic Primary, if you live in a Red seat, vote in the Republican primary. To do anything else would be wasting your vote.

Protest Votes?

We fully endorse a scorched earth policy so long as one party does not benefit at the expense of the other. If our candidate loses the primary, the other party’s candidate will receive our automatic endorsement. Since we will be running candidates in both parties, this should not benefit one or the other. This will however, send the strongest message we can in the general election!
